If you like eating food and making friends, this may be the volunteer opportunity for you! Once a month, we need volunteers to provide food (cooked or purchased) and eat with the families currently staying at Margaret’s House. TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19.

OUR CITY SPORTS CAMP COACH

If playing soccer, flag football, basketball and other fun games sounds like a lively summer night to you, please join us as an Our City Sports Camp coach! During the summer at Ramona Elementary School, we provide a low cost sports camp for kids in the surrounding community. TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19.

HOUSING SEARCH ASSISTANT

One of the hardest parts of ending homelessness is finding apartments for our homeless neighbors once they’ve saved up enough money to move off the streets. We need your help finding available apartments in Bellflower and the surrounding areas. By walking/driving around Bellflower and/or searching online you can help us find homes for our homeless neighbors.

Our outreach team is always in need of hygiene kits to give to our homeless neighbors! If you're interested in donating some, view our hygiene kit packing list at the learn more button below and drop them off at our office located at 16429 Bellflower Blvd. between 1 to 1:30pm Monday through Thursday or 10 to 10:30am Tuesday through Thursday.

After our Housing Search Assistant volunteers help find our neighbors a brand new home, we need help moving them in! Movers get to welcome our formerly homeless neighbors into their homes as they help move the basics in.

Looking to build relationships with our homeless neighbors and other awesome volunteers in the community? Serve on one of the SMBS volunteer teams on Saturday mornings at Calvary Baptist Church!

Want to hang out with some really cool people? That’s all that the Transportation Assistant needs to do! A lot of time is spent transporting clients to medical appointments and DMV appointments and we need you there with our neighbors and case managers. TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19.

You can bless our neighbors with a welcome home basket filled with household supplies as they prepare to move into their new home. You can access the supply list at the learn more button or sign up below to create customized baskets for neighbors when they’re close to their move-in date.

Hot days don’t stop our Good Soil Industries team from doing landscaping work. We're so proud of their perseverance and dedication to provide their clients with the best service even when the weather is not ideal. When the forecast calls for 92 degrees or above, you can help support the team by donating popsicles and cold beverages, like gatorade, that they can take with them on those hot days!

EMPLOYMENT ADVOCATE

Do you work in Human Resources, have experience creating resumes, or conducting interviews? If so, we need your help walking with our neighbors as they navigate the job search. Employment Advocate’s aid in resume building, interview skills, and applying to jobs.

You can help give our Good Soil Industries team the endurance they need to do their jobs well by donating sack lunches on Wednesdays or Saturdays!

LEAD DEVOTIONS

We’re looking for leaders who’d be interested in investing some of their time into our Good Soil Industries team by leading prayer and a devotional for 30 minutes on Friday mornings before the team heads out to work. Grow with our team and build relationships with them through this rewarding volunteer opportunity!

Are you a task oriented person? Does the satisfaction of stuffing envelopes excite you? If you said yes, we need your help with our quarterly mailings, data entry, and other office tasks as they arise! ALL PROJECTS CURRENTLY DONE FROM HOME DUE TO COVID-19.

We need the help of creatives to visually capture, document, and share with the community what is happening at KCB. If you’re savvy with a camera, do graphic design work, enjoy making videos, and want to help serve your community; we’d love to have you on the team! Projects will be assigned on an as needed basis.

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

If you enjoy working on cars or have some experience with vehicle maintenance work, you can help support our outreach team by assisting them with issues that arise with the vans they use to transport our homeless neighbors, as well as help keep the maintenance of the vans up to date.
